[TRAVEL DIARY] HONG KONG 2015 : HOTEL CONEXT REVIEW + TEMPLE STREET NIGHT MARKET, AVENUE OF STARS, TSIM SHA TSUI 여행 다이어리 : 홍콩 – 1편 (호텔 코넥스트 + 템플스트리트 야시장, 침사추이)

Hello everyone!

Guess who just arrived at Hong Kong!! 😀

My friend and I just flew off earlier today and arrived at Hong Kong a couple of hours ago.

Here’s to another exciting trip 😀

We arrived during night time, so we just left our bags at our “hotel” room and headed over to the Temple Street Night Market!

We ate some street food and chose the spicy sauce thinking that we could handle it because we eat Korean food but…this is overboard spicy lol

By the way, if you’re coming to Hong Kong for a short trip and you’re on budget like we are, we recommend this place for accomodation 🙂 It’s Hotel Conext and it’s at Jordan Road. It’s very convenient if you want to go to Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok 🙂 Also, the hotel is literally across the MTR Station, so it is actually placed in a strategic location.

We didn’t ride the MTR from the airport to the hotel though since the Airport Bus (A21) can lead you right here. It’s a few minutes walk from the bus stop.

The hotel is at the 3rd floor of National Court building.

Their site says 5th but it’s actually 3rd lol The elevator is easy to find, but is used by other residents of the building as well, so you might have to wait a few minutes or ride along with some people.

This is their lobby.

Their reception is open from 10AM-8PM, so do inform them if you’ll be coming any later. We told them that we’ll be arriving late, so they left our key card at the reception desk. Oh and, their staff are very accomodating and friendly, so thumbs up to that! 😀

The hotel only has 23 rooms in the hallway. The hallway is narrow but the look is actually clean and modern.

Our room is a twin bed, window room.

It is small, but my friend and I don’t mind since we won’t be in here for long anyway. No wardrobe or tables, so your stuff would just stay on the floor.

image

Also, the walls are quite thin, so you might have a hard time resting if you’re the type who is sensitive to outside noise.

The bed is pretty comfortable and the sheets are clean and soft hehe Even if it is quite small, I’m already contented with it 😀

The bathroom is small as well and the door is pretty transparent lol but I trust that my friend won’t watch me as I shower hahahaha

The bathroom comes with towels and necessities, and you can ask for a blow dryer and they’ll give it to you 🙂

The room also has wifi and air-condition. The wifi is okay, but my friend and I got 3G simcards in case the wifi screws up.

Overall, this is a pretty good place to stay at if you’re on budget and on a light travel 🙂

Anyway- Back to Night Market. We didn’t do much at the night market other than eat, so we went strolling at Tsim Sha Tsui so we know what stores to visit immediately tomorrow.

It was night so some were closing, but the view nonetheless was still amazing and breathtaking:)

We went to Avenue Of Stars since we had time to spare. Apart was closed because of construction, but it wasn’t difficult to take photos.

After that, we went to see the Clock Tower and 1881 Heritage, which we will go to again tomorrow lol

Today was a loooong day, so I’ll be back tomorrow with another Hong Kong Travel Diary 🙂

Til our next exploration ☆ 유리랑 같이 시도해용!

  1. This hotel room looks totally minimalistic. I’m not sure if I’ve seen such a small hotel room ever before. Nevertheless, your experiences in Tokyo look amazing! 🙂

    1. Hi, sorry for the late reply ㅠㅠ They don’t provide breakfast 😦 You legit only get a room with wifi in it. They do have a water kettle by the concierge, so you can get some if you need it for instant noodles haha
