Well, Halloween came around a lot earlier this year.
Hello hello to you on this beautiful Sunday morning! I’m here with a
spooky review for you guys, and today, it’s going to be all about face mask sheets!
BOUGHT FROM: The Face Shop Philippines
So these Kakao masks come in 6 different kinds. I only got 4 designs since the Apeach and Lion ones weren’t available huhu Anyway, other than having different looks, these masks have different key aspects to them. We’ll tackle each of them one by one starting now 😀
Muzi the Rabbit – Soothing
Since Muzi is a rabbit obssessed over apples, this soothing face mask has apple extract to help your skin. As for ingredients that may be potential irritants, this does contain PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Hydrogenated Castor Oil and Fragrance, so if those irritate your skin then this mask isn’t a good way to go.
The look of the mask is.. well. Not that cute haha
I look more of like an egg rather than Muzi tbh-
Results wise, it did quite soothe and it did some skin smoothing. Redness was toned down and my skin felt soft afterwards. So for this mask, claims were met, yes.
Next up, Tube – Brightening
This mask contains Cotton Seed extract and Niacinamide to help make your skin more radiant. Irritant ingredients are the same ones mentioned earlier, so do be careful.
When worn, it looks like..
Close enough. And among all masks, this looks the least scary and the most decent.
The finish would probably be more evident with a longer term of use. In the five times that I used this, the brightening effect is there but isn’t that overwhelmingly good. It did have quite a pore blurring effect though!
For the third mask, Neo the Cat – Resilience
This mask contains Blueberry and Adenosine essence to diminish wrinkles and to regain vitality. If you don’t have winkles to fix up yet, using masks like these are for early aid and prevention. Potential irritant ingredients are the same.
The mask itself when worn,
please brace yourself,
The eyes are so creepy 휴 ㅅ 휴 It could’ve been cute but the eyes just ruined it huhu
The result of this is the hardest to tell. I can’t really say anything regarding the wrinkle aspect (though longer use would most likely show more evident results), but this did moisturize my skin somehow.
Lastly, Frodo the Dog – Moisturizing
This last mask contains Olives as its main ingredient. The olive essence would help dry and rough skin to be more smooth and hydrated. Potential irritants are the same as above.
At this point, I already lost hope in the looks of these masks haha Also, among all, this one looks the creepiest to me.
If Neo had the eyes as a bummer, this one had the mouth and the eyes as a killer. I look like a serial killer who came out of a horror movie! Thankfully, despite the scary look, it did work and make my skin more moisturized.
Generally, these masks are made of thin cotton.
They’re also very soaked in essence. They’re so wet that they still feel pretty soaked after the 15-minute mark.
The size, like most of The Face Shop’s masks, is ridiculously large.
The nose area is large, the mouth area is so big that its lower area could already settle by my chin, and the sides just have so much excess. It takes me a while to put it on in a way that it’s comfortable and properly placed on. I literally have to do some adjusting here and there just to make the character face more visible. But despite the annoying size, these masks did work and didn’t irritate my skin at all.
Overall, these work fine and generally have a moisturizing and smoothing effect. I wouldn’t buy these again though since these creepy masks are on the pricier side. But hey, if you like Kakao like I do, this is worth a shot, right? Just one shot then go back to normal masks that deliver a decent result haha Anywaaay. That’s all for today! 🙂 I hope you found this interesting and helpful, and as always, thank you for reading! 🙂
